As most people who meditate know, the human brain has receptor sites that process emotions and yearnings generated from memories and the senses. The ultimate goal for many who meditate is to willfully override the impulses from the body and environment and that their projection of a goal or spiritual state of mind is a much stronger signal within the brain than the constant chatter  and sensory inputs. The consensus is that a cleaner mind yields a better life, and this is certainly a proven reality across many fields and disciplines, including science.
