Meditation Music

Meditation MusicMeditation music can range from any subtle or atmospheric background blending of  soothing sounds and ambient music to more rhythmic powerful bass sounds that would help focus energy to engage a clear mental state.

What ever the intent behind your meditation, if you have some experience meditating you already know that meditation music can be the most important sensory input to optimizing your experience.

How to Enhance Your Meditation with Music

Here’s what meditation music can help listeners overcome, particularly in urban dwellings:

  • Sounds from neighbors that may be a source of irritation.
  • Sounds from street traffic; automobiles and pedestrians.
  • Overall sensory overload that can occur in cities or high paced living situations.

The sound masking benefits of meditation music are first recognized as the most practical application to a readily perceived problem, as shown by common external noise examples outlined above.  Yet with Hemi-Sync brain entrainment frequencies meditation music listening produces a range of added benefits.

All  Metamusic CD titles combine  the clinically proven and patented Hemi-Sync sound process with quality music composed in genres ranging from atmospheric to classical to shamanic.

When engaging the process of listening for meditation the listener does not have to wear headphones –  the sound benefits of Hemi-Sync carry over from any stereo sound system. The headphones may provide a more “envelope listening experience”, but some may find wearing the headset during meditation not to their liking.

So the first step to overcoming the common distractions to gaining full benefit from meditation is for you to assess the space in which the daily practice is done, determine if your stereo or iPod can deliver and make your meditation better with good music![mp3-jplayer tracks="Dimensions-In-Time@dimensionsintime.mp3, Dreamland@dreamland.mp3" height="20px" list="y"]

  1. I meditate every day and sometimes I’m about to go nuts. I live on the 12 floor in a building in Manhattan and the TV is not doing it for me…I desire to go on a spiritual retreat but the funds are lacking…it is a real damned if you do / damned if you don’t situation here. So my only recourse is to meditate. I really look forward to using my Hemi-Sync CDs for meditation!

  2. I’m extremely impressed with your writing talents and also with the structure on your weblog. Is this a paid topic or did you modify it yourself? Anyway keep up the excellent quality writing, it is rare to peer a nice blog like this one nowadays..
